I really like both of these. The above, I really like cause it is an interesting way to demonstrate space and size. I love the bottom because It is so interesting that the whole body is connected in such a complex way. Also, the way that they broke up the foot into different colors was a nice idea as well 🙂

Updates!

7 Apr

As the semester is quickly coming to a close, many of my projects are coming to an end, and many are just starting or in the process of being planned for the future.

Art and Scope is in its last stages, we are currently working on the Table of Contents and the Featured Poetry Slam pages. We also are placing the Cadaver and a few extra details. Due to the high amount of negative feedback last semester, Mary decided it would be best if we did not copy edit this semesters edition, or if we did, to keep it to a bare minimum. I feel like my style has changed greatly within my 3 publications and I am elated with my geometric focused design in this issue; I feel like it is a good issue for my work as a publication designer for Art and Scope to end with. Although I chose not to continue with my work for next school year, I plan on being an active member in Art and Scope, if my schedule permits. The estimated date of release for the publication is the first week of May- towards the Wed or Thurs of that week.

On the weekend of April 27th- I will be photographing an Alumni Weekend for the Fraternity Iota Tau Kappa. I will be attending the events and capturing the memories that they will create, and possibly forget, that weekend. Unfortunately, their Alumni Weekend is the same weekend of OhFest… and I had planned on seeing GirlTalk… We will see what happens….

As far as work for this semester… the bulk of my work ends with Art and Scope. As for Anthropology…. it just keeps growing…

In the near future, here are some of the things I am looking forward to…

  • Camp Shane 2012- I have been offered the position of Leather Craft instructor. Although this is a great opportunity, and the camp saved my life… My first choice of summer experience is for the internship with the IRC.
  • The IRC Internship: Peer Refugee Summer Counselor- This is by far my first choice for my summer 2012 experience. I have an interview for this position this coming week and I am so excited! Although it is most likely an unpaid internship, this experience will be the first that can be seen as anthropological experience.
  • Anime Club: Anime Convention Oneonta- The president of the Anime club, and a personal friend of mine, Lily asked me to possibly make a pamphlet/ booklet for the Anime convention that they are trying to hold in Oneonta next semester. After attending their EBoard meeting last week, I have come to realize how hard it is to put together a program of that scale. If the Club is able to put their exciting idea together, I am more than happy to help them in anyway that I can!
  • Print Shop Internship: Netzer- After talking to Kathy, I contacted Barry, the head printer for the print shop located in Netzer on the SUNY Oneonta Campus about a possible involvement in the print shop or Internship. Although I have not discussed this possibility in length with Barry yet, I will be going to him the week of APR 16th to talk about the possible opportunity.
I feel like there are things I am missing, but I can not think of them at this point….

Art and Scope Submission Flyers

26 Feb

For Art and Scope, we have submission due dates coming up for our Spring 2012 magazine. Although we have flyers scattered around campus, I realized that there were no flyers directed towards, or even placed in the Fine Arts building. Because of our lack of fine art submissions last semester, I decided it was necessary. I quickly came up with these simple posters, I played with colors to make the hierarchy on the poster as well as type, stand out. Here are my versions…
